• Bio:

    Jeanne Marcus leads classes and workshops on communication skills throughout the metro D.C. and Central Maryland area, based on the Nonviolent Communication model of Dr. Marshall Rosenberg. She also provides communication coaching for individuals, couples and small groups.

    She is a co-founder of Capitol NVC, an information clearinghouse and organizational umbrella for Nonviolent Communication training in the metro D.C. area. She has participated in extensive NVC trainings in the U.S. and Canada.

    Jeanne completed the North American NVC Leadership Training Program in 2007. She currently serves as an assistant trainer for the 2008 Leadership Program. She is a certification candidate with the global Center for Nonviolent Communication.

    Jeanne has a J.D. from the University of Texas at Austin, has completed foundational mediation training meeting the requirements for Maryland courts’ Rule 17, and is a Practitioner Member of the Association for Conflict Resolution.

    From 2001 through 2005, she served on the pastoral staff team for a small, innovative non-denominational church. In this position, she provided pastoral support to church members, created and taught numerous adult education offerings, and staffed meetings of the church’s board and working groups. She and her husband, Steve, live in Silver Spring, Maryland, and have two grown sons.
