May 3, 7-9 pm: Communicating with Honesty and Compassion

In this FREE 2-hour introduction to Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we'll explore the basic tools of this transformational process of compassionate communication, and will practice applying them to situations from our own lives. No prior experience required. RSVP necessary.
May 6, 2-5 pm: Asking For What You Really Want: A Workshop on Making Requests
Location: Takoma Park, Maryland
Led by Jeanne Marcus and Ian Mayes
This workshop explores the largely untapped power of effective requests. Using our own situations and the tools of NVC, we'll practice getting clear about what we REALLY need, and how to express ourselves in ways more likely to result in our needs being met. We request that participants have previous experience with NVC.
May 12, 10-4 pm: Beyond Habit: Learning to Communicate with Authenticity and Compassion
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Led by Lynd Morris and Ann Augustine
This day-long workshop explores the core concepts and deeper practices of NVC, expanding our ability to identify and accept what is true for us in any given situation; exploring what blocks our authenticity; learning how to communicate our truth compassionately; deepening our capacity to hear others; and identifying ways to sustain us in living our intentions. Some familiarity with NVC requested.
May 19, 1-5 pm: Open-Hearted Communication
Location: Chevy Chase, DC

In this interactive and engaging workshop we will explore the basics of NVC, a powerful method used around the world to resolve conflicts and bring about inner and outer peace. No prior experience necessary.
Beginning June 4, 7:15-9:15: Bringing Home Mindful Communication
Location: Silver Spring, Maryland
Led by Lynd Morris
This series of 4 twice-monthly classes will address how NVC can help us stay connected to ourselves and others, especially in trying moments. The class will include large and small group work, demos, NVC exercises, and short periods of guided meditation. Previous NVC training requested. Attendance at the "Beyond Habit" workshop on May 12 is recommended.
