Deepening Empathic Presence
What is it we communicate when we use verbal and nonverbal language to reach out to another person? We may believe we are offering our thoughts or even expressing our feelings, but the work of NVC leader Robert Gonzales* suggests that we are communicating a fundamental and precious form of life energy which, in NVC terms, we call needs.
In this 3-hour workshop we will explore how met and unmet needs are lived in our emotions and in our bodies and increase our capacity to sense what is "alive" in ourselves and in those around us. The second half of this workshop will focus on deepening our experience of three needs that are essential for developing empathic presence.
This workshop is open to anyone who has already attended 5 or more hours of NVC training. It may be taken alone or as the first of three workshops in the "Compassionately Embracing Life" series Lynd Morris is offering this December and January. This workshop is being offered twice to enable more people to attend.
